Free Skills Assessment
We at the Yachting Mentor believe in basing our instruction on a clearly defined requirement and a thorough understanding of our clients’ abilities.
We believe that a ‘one size fits all’ approach to training often wastes time revising what you already know with insufficient time devoted to areas that need improvement.That is why the Yachting Mentor offers FREE skills assessment for clients who enrol in one or more of our training packages.
The Yachting Mentor can come aboard your boat (or a chartered yacht) for a short cruise. During this time you will be assessed on a wide range of skills including the health & safety aspects, handling the yacht in close quarters and open waters, navigation, shortening sails, etc.
Afterwards, the Yachting Mentor will review your skills assessment with you, taking time to point out your strengths and identifying any areas that need improvement. If necessary, a programme of instruction will be recommended, either one of the standard packages or a bespoke training package that will be customised to suit your needs and schedule.
Should you decide to enrol in one or more of the training packages offered, the skills assessment fee will be deducted from the cost of the course.
